Mee Goreng is originally Malaysian cuisine, It is sticky, savory, sweet, sour noodles combined with fried paneer and stir-fried veggies.

Mee Goreng is a very popular street food that you can find so easily in Malaysia. These Malaysian noodles are cooked in a hot wok and have the most fabulous sticky spicy sour sweet-savory sauce. They are typically owned by Indian Muslims ( Mamak) in Malaysia.

Mee Goreng is usually made with fresh yellow noodles and served with fried tofu, beans sprout, a slice of potatoes, or any seafood. Since I m veggie so using here only fresh vegetables and I have never made this before with sprouts and tofu so will share those recipes also some other time.

Here in this recipe, I use paneer and some fresh vegetables.

Today you'll see how to make the Mee Goreng using normal spaghetti noodles with a mixture of a flavorful sauce and spices. and let's not forget a good wok to toss the noodles around.

What you will do to make veggie Mee Goreng.

  • Noodles- Fresh yellow would prefer but if you can't get that so use normal ramen noodles or spaghetti noodles like me. That also works best. If you are using fresh yellow noodles. Please rinse them with cold water or blanch them quickly in hot water to remove the oil. For other types of noodles, prefer as mentioned in the packet.

  • Sauce Mix- There are so many different recipes for this sauce. But I used here Light soy sauce, Dark soy sauce, tomato ketchup, sesame oil, black paper, and brown sugar.

  • Vegetables- You can use here bean sprouts and potatoes also. I use only cabbage and green pepper in this recipe.
