Mango sago is a popular Asian dessert that's the perfect dessert for mango season. This creamy and fruity dessert is so easy to make at home with some simple ingredients.

And top of that, homemade mango sago is made with real fruit, and it tastes so yummy and is healthier also.


What is Mango sago?

Mango sago is a very popular dessert that originated in Hong Kong but has gained popularity in various parts of Asia, especially in Southeast Asian countries. It is a refreshing and sweet treat made with ripe mangoes, sago pearls (also known as tapioca pearls), and a creamy coconut milk mixture.

Mango sago is easier to make at home than you think It takes some time to cook tapioca pearls but really just takes a few min to make in actual prep.



To make this delicious mango sago pudding you will need the following ingredients:


Ingredients:


  • Ripe mangoes: The main ingredient, providing a sweet and tropical flavor.

  • Sago pearls: Small tapioca pearls that are cooked until translucent and have a chewy texture.

  • Coconut milk: Adds creaminess and richness to the dessert.

  • Condensed milk: I used here condensed milk but you can use sugar also.

  • Water: Used for cooking the sago pearls.


Method:




  • Boil a pot of water and add sago pearls. Cook them until they turn translucent, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. This usually takes around 10-15 minutes.

  • After 15 minutes turn off the gas stove and cover the pot with a lid and let it rest for another 10 minutes.

  • Once the sago pearls are cooked, drain and rinse them under cold water to remove excess starch. Set aside.

  • Peel and dice the ripe mangoes into small cubes. keep some of them aside and use them as garnish.

  • Now in a mixing jar add mango coconut milk and condensed milk or sugar and make paste.

The process to assemble :


  • In a serving glass Pour the coconut milk mixture over sago pearls, ensuring it covers the entire dessert.

  • Now lastly you can garnish the dessert with additional diced mangoes or a sprinkle of toasted coconut flakes for added texture and presentation. It's optional

  • Serve the mango sago chilled.

  • Enjoy.
