If you following me on my Instagram then you definitely know me by now that I like to try all different types of cuisines but problem is that I only can try that at home as I don't eat onion garlic. And where I m staying there is not too much in the food industry that I can explore and another reason is that I m a very big fan of or you can say it like an obsessed girl for BTS ( Bangtan Sonyeondan ) K- Pop Group in the Korean music industry. And Recently I've been watching a lot of Korean dramas, and I always drool when I see some of the Korean dishes that always make me hungry and yah So that's why I also want to try 1/2all Korean dishes.
Sigeumchi Namul is a simple Korean side dish made with spinach. Namul refers to a seasoned vegetable dish, and Sigeumchi means spinach in Korean. There is an infinite number of vegetables used to make Namul dishes in Korea.
Healthy and delicious Korean spinach salad(Banchan) that takes less than 10 minutes to make.
This spinach side dish is so flavorful and tastes good with everything and is super simple to make. Make sigeumchi namul in bulk once a week. and you got vegetables ready to go for the rest of the week.
Korean spinach salad- is as easy banchan that requires only a few simple ingredients. and all of you have to do is blanch and season the spinach. I always make Korean spinach salad and when I'm hungry, I Love to eat banchan with rice.

A few ingredients that help flavor the dish are sesame oil, soy sauce, and crushed sesame seed. I recommend using high-quality soy sauce and sesame oil since they are the main essential ingredient that brings this spinach salad to another level. If you want to make a spicy flavor that also tastes the best so for that you can add red chilies flakes and chili paste. Depending on your spice tolerance you can increase the amount to your liking.
Spinach is low in calories but high in nutrients.
Spinach is packed with vitamins and minerals. It is also good for your skin. You can use any fresh spinach but if you find Korean spinach please try it at least once with that spinach. I did try with regular fresh spinach.
Ingredient:
Spinach
Soy sauce
Sesame Oil
Crushed Sesame seed
Sugar
Minced Garlic ( Optional)
Chili Flakes ( Optional)
Red chili Paste ( optional )
Method:
Cut off stems and rinse the spinach. Once everything is clean, drain and keep aside.
In a pot, add a 1/2 teaspoon of salt and bring to boil water. Once it's boiling, add spinach and blanch just for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds removes and rinse spinach with cold water or just leave all blanched spinach in iced water so it stops further cooking.
After it's cold squeeze out all water from the blanched spinach. Now chopped spinach into half or if you find it's long then chopped more.
Now in another bowl mix soy sauce, sesame oil, crushed sesame seed, red chili flakes, and a teaspoon of sugar.
Add now blanch and chopped spinach and mix everything.
Taste to see if you need any more additional seasoning.
