Delicious Chole Bhature

You will definitely fall in love with chole bhature .


Chole bhature is famous recipe in northern part of India. It is basically popular in Punjab so it's Punjabi dish. But you can found chole bhature in every corner of India. Chole bhature is also very popular for Indian street food . So if you are street food lover then go ahead and definitely try this .


In north India so many people who owe as living as to sell on cart. Even Chole bhature you found in every restaurant coz this is very common dish in India but still yummiest dish in India . In north India you found special chole bhature counter in every wedding . Chole bhature is spicy dish and ideally served as for breakfast and lunch. So basically its versatile recipe .You can have it as main course or breakfast as your choice .


Chole bhature is combination of white kabuli chana ( white chickpeas) and bhature is which made with maida and basically fried puris served with chana .


In my family Everyone enjoy to have chole bhature . My son loves chole bhature too much. So Chole bhature is always in my meal plan twice a month and that's fixed. And i m sure you also love this recipe once you make and you will make over and over again .

 

So let's just start how to make chole bhature and what ingredient need.


Main Ingredient :

  • Chana - white chickpeas / white kabuli chana

  • Bhature - Fried Indian bread made with wheat flour or maida

What goes well :

  • Chole you can serve with rice or roti( Chapati , kulcha, naan )

  • Add some pickle Onion, Lime, or mango etc. anything whatever you like to have with.

Ways to make chickpea:

  • Method 1- Use canned chickpea. It is quick when you dont have time and craving for some yummy tasty dish .

  • Method 2- Normal chickpea Just need to soak in water about 6 to 7 hours and then Put in presser cooker and cook for until it came out soft.

 

Detailed method to make chole :

Ingredient :

  • White chickpeas- boiled and cooked

  • Tomatoes - Roughly chopped

  • Ginger n green chilli paste

  • Coriander Powder

  • Cumin powder

  • Turmeric powder

  • Red chilli powder

  • Chole Masala ( if you don't have , do not stress at all , still you can make yummy chole)

  • Amchur powder( dry mango powder) optional

  • Black cardamom

  • Cinnamon stick

  • Cloves

  • cumin

  • dry kasturi methi , roasted

  • Oil

  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh coriander

  • Lemon Juice ( optional)

For Tempering:

  • Ghee

  • Hing( optional)

  • Small ginger Cut in julienne

  • Green chilli cut in between

Method to make chole:

  1. In a big pot heat oil, Add cumin seed and black cardamom , cinnamon stick and cloves . Roast little while everything and then add tomatoes and chilli ginger paste and cook this until tomatoes soft.

  2. Now add all spices and saute again.

  3. Add now cooked and boiled chickpeas and water according consistency.

  4. Cover for few minutes. Untill chickpeas are soft and tender. Ans lastly add Kasturi methi and your chole is done . Before you serve taste it so you can add salt or masala whatever is missing .

  5. For tempering; Now take small tadka pan, add ghee in it and add hing ginger and chilli .

  6. Cook this for 1 minute .

  7. Add this tadka to on ready to eat chole . It look so yum and you can enjoy that pieces of ginger and chilli while you have it chole .

  8. So tasty delicious chole ready to serve with bhature .

  9. Chole you can also serve with rice , roti, kulcha , naan or paratha .



 

Method to make bhature:

Ingredient:

  • 2cup Maida or wheat flour

  • Semolina about 2 tbsp

  • Salt to taste

  • Baking soda 1/4 tsp

  • Baking powder 1/4 tsp

  • Sugar 1 tsp

  • Curd 2tbsp

Insturction:

  1. Take maida or wheat flour in bowl .

  2. Add semolina, salt , baking powder, baking soda .and sugar .

  3. Last add curd . Mixed everything nicely .

  4. Make dough using water.

  5. Cover with damp cloth and leave to rest for half and hour .

  6. Heat big fry pan with oil.

  7. Now roll bhature like small puris and Fry it .

  8. Bhature is ready to serve



 

Please note in my recipe I did not add onion , garlic coz I dont eat but you can add onion garlic in this recipe . Just make sure when you start cooking first add onion slices or puree before you add tomatoes .
