Apple kimchi is a variation of the traditional Korean dish, kimchi, which is a fermented vegetable side dish. While traditional kimchi is made primarily with cabbage, apple kimchi incorporates apples as one of the main ingredients.
To make apple kimchi, you have to mix it with a paste made from ingredients such as chili pepper flakes or Gochugaru, sesame seeds, and other seasonings.
In the case of apple kimchi, you would also add sliced or diced apples to the spice mixture. The apples provide a unique flavor and a hint of sweetness to the kimchi. The combination of the apples with the spicy and tangy flavors of the kimchi creates a delicious and refreshing variation of the dish.
Apple kimchi can be enjoyed on its own as a side dish, or it can be used in various recipes and dishes such as stir-fries, rice bowls, or even sandwiches. It adds a bright and slightly fruity element to the overall flavor profile.
